Welcome aboard Delancey, Deb and Peter's sailboat and home.  After moving aboard in 1999, we made a plan to save our money, leave our jobs, and cruise south to the Caribbean.  Fifteen years and a new, larger boat later, we were no closer to casting off.  Then one day Deb looked up from her desk and declared that we must go. Now.

On 17 October 2015, we cast off.  We sailed south around New Jersey, up the Delaware, into the Chesapeake, and down the ICW to Florida, when the real adventure began.  We made our way through the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico, finally arriving in the USVIs to wait out the 2016 hurricane season and replenish the cruising kitty. We cast off again in December 2016 to explore the Leeward and Windward islands.  Late summer 2017 found us back in the Chesapeake, where catastrophic engine failure cut off the last leg of the trip home.  Two years after sailing away, we're in New York City, on land (for a change), looking forward to getting Delancey back home in the spring.

The trip was by turns beautiful, frustrating, fun, boring, exciting, and a little scary.  We visited so many special places and made wonderful friends.  We wouldn't trade the experience for the world.
